Remorseful response awaits terrorists in southern Iran: Police chief

Zahedan, IRNA – Iran’s police chief Ahmad-Reza Radan has said that Iran’s police will give a strong, and remorseful response to the terrorists in Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeastern Iran.

Radan who traveled Sistan and Baluchestan province to pursue the terrorist incident in Zahedan, said on Wednesday that Sistan and Baluchestan will not be a safe haven for Hooligans by police's quick and blatant actions.

Emphasizing the necessity of synergy and convergence among law enforcement, border guards, and security agencies in the missions, Iran’s police chief noted that the capacities of tribal leaders, elders, and scholars of the province should be used for ensuring sustainable security in the region.

He further noted that offensive measures are an important priority of the police in carrying out missions, and the safeguarding of cars and changing tactics should be smart and accurate on the agenda, adding that using up-to-date police equipment in ensuring the safety of people and borders is a necessity.

Pointing to the martyrdom of four highway patrol police officers in Zahedan, Radan emphasized the determination of the police in ensuring the safety of the people.

Four highway patrol police officers have been martyred in a terrorist attack that took place on July 23 on the Khash-Taftan road in Sistan and Baluchestan province, in southeastern Iran.
